This well-established business has approached Hays seeking a field IT Technician to join their team.
Your new company
This well-established business providing IT services to schools across the North West has an excellent reputation for the high level of service they provide to the primary sector, and they have approached Hays looking to add to their team. The business has been established for over 20 years and therefore has developed excellent relationships with schools across the region, with a particularly strong presence in the Merseyside area and this particular role will be based in the Liverpool area, where you will become an integral part of this collaborative team.
Your new role
Reporting to the IT Service Director, you will be responsible for providing a high level of IT support to your cluster of primary schools which will be based in the Merseyside area, working closely with leadership and teaching staff to ensure excellent IT provision. You will be joining an established team of IT Technicians who are skilled at providing IT support in the education sector, and you will therefore work closely with colleagues upon joining the business to ensure you are fully knowledgeable before being assigned your own schools. From a support perspective, this will involve providing first and second line support with a range of issues logged through a helpdesk system. These issues could relate to hardware, software, bespoke educational technologies and working with firewalls and on backups. In addition, you will support the roll-out of any IT projects that are required in schools, whether this be installations or upgrades, or working with end users around the use of IT equipment. As an IT Technician in the education sector, you will be working with Apple devices, managing tablets and iPads, as well as mobile devices and working on bespoke platforms unique to this sector, therefore allowing you to further develop your experience.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will ideally possess IT support experience in the education sector, having worked for a school, college, trust or for a managed service provider supporting schools. You will have a passion for delivering a high level of IT service, as well as be an excellent communicator who is able to build relationships with both staff and pupils. A knowledge of M365, Active Directory and, ideally, bespoke educational technologies is ideal. Please note, as this is a field-based role, you will need to hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of between £30,000 and £35,000 dependent on experience, and you will be joining a reputable business where you will further develop your skills and experience. You will receive 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, and also gain access to the company's benefits package.
