Due to promotion, an education provider in Blackpool is seeking an IT Technician to join their growing team.
Your new company
This education provider has an excellent reputation and, due to an internal promotion, the IT Manager has approached Hays seeking an IT Technician to join their expanding team. Over the last 12 months, the well-established team has grown due to expansion, as well as due to internal promotions and this growth is expected to continue, therefore providing further career and development opportunities for those joining the team. The education provider has an excellent reputation across the Lancashire area, with a strong focus on being forward-thinking in what they can offer to students, and this also means they therefore have a range of technologies being used due to the broad options available to students. The IT team consists of almost 30 IT specialists, with 10 being in the service desk team and the latest vacancy is to join this team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
Reporting to the IT Service Desk Manager, you will be responsible for providing end user support across the organisation, working with stafff and students to ensure all IT infrastructure and equipment is functioning and that any issues are resolved quickly. From an IT support perspective, this will involve providing support with hardware, software and bespoke technologies, therefore allowing you to further develop your own skills and knowledge. Support requirements could relate to the installation of hardware or software, providing updates or amendments to current systems or support for the roll-out of new technologies. Due to the nature of the education sector, support requirements can vary and this provides you with a huge range of knowledge in relation to IT support.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess experience of providing IT support, have experience in first line and, ideally where you have worked face to face with end users. You will have a passion for providing a high level of IT support, with a strong focus on providing a high level of customer service and ensuring that issues are resolved quickly, understanding the impact of any IT issues on teaching and learning. Furthermore, you must possess a valid UK driving licence as you may be asked to travel to other local sites.
