Your new company
Your new role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day IT infrastructure support and enhancements of infrastructure applications, cloud-hosted applications, hosted business applications, and back-office IT infrastructure (i.e. server, network, database administration, EDI, and cybersecurity), including changes, patching, upgrades, and implementation of new capabilities.
A Managed Service Provider (MSP) is partnered with Group IT to aid in servicing the business and monitoring the IT and security infrastructure 24/7. Working with the Group IT Infrastructure Manager, you will guide IT infrastructure standards and deployments within the Group.
In this role, you will develop close working relationships with colleagues and third-party IT support/solution partners, maintaining a customer-focused approach. While acting as an escalation point for IT infrastructure, you will leverage third-party service partners when needed. As a service partner to the business, you will drive simplification and standardisation of IT infrastructure, applications, and tools. It is essential, for both support and project-based initiatives, that our Core Values form the foundation of everything we do. You will recommend and implement tools and procedures to ensure performance, capacity, and reliability management of the IT infrastructure, while adhering to the data security and cybersecurity standards defined by Group IT.
What you'll need to succeed
- Champion IT security by coordinating regular audits, managing improvement programs, and publishing reports. Collaborate with cyber management partners and leadership to implement best-in-class protection.
- Act as a core member of the Critical Incident Response Team for cyber incidents.
- Operate IT services within a risk and audit-based framework, ensuring strict adherence to governance and security policies.
- Oversee the Change Control Process in collaboration with infrastructure partners to manage all system changes with proper approvals.
- Manage and support the Microsoft O365 tenant.
- Deliver 1st-line end-user application support across a broad tech stack (OS, Office, ERP, CRM, WMS, SharePoint, Teams, soft-phone, VC, etc.).
- Serve as an escalation point for hardware and infrastructure issues, stepping in when desktop technicians are unavailable.
- Analyze Helpdesk data to eliminate root causes and recurring issues.
- Coordinate OS and application patching and versioning, along with Active Directory governance (accounts, policies).
- Administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure (TCP/IP, switches, VLANs, VPN, WAN, DHCP, DNS, firewalls).
- Support high availability and disaster recovery operations, including regular testing and documentation updates.
- Manage RFCs and NSRs, ensuring service level compliance and contributing to planning and resource allocation.
- Build strong relationships with third-party IT suppliers to ensure value delivery and compliance with patch/update requirements.
- Provide technical assurance for all 3rd-party IT infrastructure activity.
- Maintain the IT Asset Register and lead hardware refresh initiatives.
- Continuously monitor system health, proactively addressing issues to minimise disruption.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and train end users where applicable.
What you'll get in return
Opportunity for career progression
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension Scheme
