Interim Management Accountant
Location: Central Cheltenham (Hybrid) Contract: Interim
Hays are exclusively partnering with a growing, PE-backed organisation based in Central Cheltenham to recruit an Interim Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, evolving business and support the finance team through a busy period. The role requires a hands-on individual who can quickly integrate into the team and deliver high-quality financial support across core reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post accurate journals, including accruals and prepayments, ensuring completeness and adherence to month-end timelines
- Support the production of monthly management accounts, including analysis of key movements and ensuring data integrity across the reporting process
- Assist with the month-end close process, working closely with the wider finance team to deliver timely and accurate results.
- Provide support during the audit process, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, working papers, and responding to auditor queries
- Deliver variance analysis, identifying key drivers of performance against budget and prior periods, and providing clear, insightful commentary
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and strengthen financial controls
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements during peak periods
About You
- Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience accountant
- Strong experience in management accounts and month-end processes
- Able to work autonomously and hit the ground running
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment
