Interim Accountant – North Devon (Hybrid)
- Location: Between Bide and Barnstaple, North Devon
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend)
- Rate: Up to £225 per day
- Working Pattern: 2 days in office / 3 days remote (parking available)
About the Role
Hays are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Interim Accountant to join a dynamic finance team at a well-established organisation located between Bideford and Barnstaple, in North Devon. This is a key role focused on improving the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage two critical monthly reporting cycles including Financial Month End.
- Consolidate data from multiple sources to produce high-quality reports for senior review.
- Review and validate inputs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Drive improvements in reporting processes to support the company culture.
- Coordinate ad-hoc requests including:
- Director-level analysis
- Submissions to external bodies
- Audit documentation
- Collaborate with the wider finance team, including a dedicated Finance Analyst for data extraction and dashboard creation.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in financial reporting and consolidation.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment.
- Experience with continuous improvement and process optimisation is a plus.
- Qualified, part-qualified or non-qualified will be considered for this role.
