EL/PL Solicitor/Lawyer sought after by award-winning defendant firm

Your new company
Our client is an award-winning defendant firm. Due to the growth of their personal injury department, they are currently recruiting for a NQ-2 PQE EL/PL solicitor or chartered legal executive to join their Manchester city centre office on a hybrid basis. This role is open to claimant and defendant solicitors/chartered legal executives.

Your new role
This EL/PL Solicitor/Lawyer role will see you:
  • Handle your own diverse caseload of Defendant Insurance matters, with a primary focus on Public and Employer’s Liability claims, and occasional involvement in Disease and Fraud-related cases.
  • Assist senior team members on complex defendant insurance matters.
  • Liaising effectively with clients, insurers, opposing counsel, and the Courts to ensure timely progression of files.
  • Building and nurturing client relationships to support retention and growth, while enhancing the firm’s reputation.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives such as training sessions, thought leadership content, and submissions to Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.

What you'll need to succeed
Essential :
  • Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with 0–2 years PQE.
  • Experience handling your own caseload of Employer’s and Public Liability claims (claimant and defendant welcomed).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and insurance litigation processes.
  • Strong client care skills, delivering professional and competent legal advice in accordance with the SRA Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively within a legal team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Desirable :
  • Experience in business development activities.
  • Previous experience handling disease claims and/or fraud-related matters.
  • Previous experience dealing with local authorities and insurer clients.
