As a Broker/Technician you will be working for a long-established, independent, specialist Lloyd's insurance broker that specialises in Excess and Surplus lines business emanating from managing general agencies and wholesale brokers in North America. This company provide vital independent service for our direct clients, our network of producers and local insurance companies who require access to the market. Due to an expansion in their North American team a position has risen for a Broker/Technician.
Your new role
In your new role as a Broker/Technician, your primary responsibility will be in the Open Market Brokerage area. Your duties will include handling incoming risk enquiries, developing underwriting skills by working alongside the in-house underwriter, broking business to insurers for consideration on both line slip and pure open market basis as well as maintaining strong client relationships through virtual and face to face communication. Your responsibilities will also include creating and distributing data in connection with the placement and marketing of in-house binding authorities. This role will also require you to ensure all data and binder sheets for new and renewal business is maintained and updated as and when needed.
What you’ll need to succeed
Your previous experience as a Broker Technician will contribute to your success in this role. You will have past experience within the insurance industry and be looking for you next role in broking. You will be extremely computer literate and competent in using Microsoft Office software and have an understanding or be willing to use in-house insurance broking systems.
