Your new role
As a Neighbourhood Officer, you will be responsible for delivering excellent tenancy and estate management services. Your role will include:
- Managing allocations, lettings, and mutual exchanges in line with policies and procedures.
- Supporting tenants to maintain successful tenancies and enjoy peaceful occupation of their homes.
- Responding appropriately to reports of anti-social behaviour, nuisance, and harassment, including attending court when required.
- Working in partnership with internal teams such as Tenancy Support and Income Recovery, to promote tenancy sustainment and maximise rental income.
- Providing tenants with guidance on welfare benefits and accessing external support services.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with local agencies and leading on resident consultations.
- Ensuring safeguarding concerns are reported and managed in accordance with legislation and organisational policies.
- Promoting resident involvement and supporting community engagement initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements relating to housing services.

Essential skills & experience
- Understanding of tenancy agreements, housing legislation, and the roles of landlord and tenant.
- Experience working with customers face-to-face and over the phone.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits relevant to social housing tenants.
- Experience of multi-agency working.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build positive relationships.
- Ability to assess situations, organise workload effectively, and take initiative.
- A driving licence, as travel across the region is required.
Essential qualifications
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths & English at Grade C/Level 4 or equivalent).
- Numerate and literate.
Desirable
- A CIH-approved housing qualification (or working towards one).
- Previous experience working within the housing sector or as a Housing Officer.
