Income Recovery Officer - 3 Month Temporary Contract - up to £24.31 per hour - Birmingham/Walsall

Your new company

We’re partnering with a respected Midlands housing association that manages thousands of affordable homes across the region. They’re dedicated to delivering excellent tenant services, fostering safe and thriving communities, and investing in initiatives that support residents to sustain their tenancies and live independently.

Your new role

We’re seeking a proactive and compassionate Rent Payment Officer to join the provider’s Income team. This customer-facing role involves helping residents sustain their tenancies by ensuring rent and service charge payments are made on time, offering tailored financial advice, and negotiating affordable repayment plans. You'll also support legal processes where needed, maintain detailed records, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver wraparound support.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will bring prior experience working as an Income Officer, with a proven track record of effectively managing rent arrears and supporting tenancy sustainability. Proficiency in using housing management systems such as Northgate is essential, and candidates with experience of conducting property viewings and handling tenancy sign-ups will be particularly well suited to this role. This background will enable them to hit the ground running and make a positive impact from day one.

What you'll get in return

This is provisionally a 3 month contract with the opportunity to extend by a further 3 closer to the time. With a competitive hourly rate, this is an excellent opportunity to work for a well regarded housing provider and work as part of a large and supportive team to ensure the sustainment of tenants tenancy obligations.
