Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a large Warrington-based Nursery and Forest School as they are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated teaching assistant for a temporary full-time placement that will last the entirety of next academic year. This school has a large number of pupils with SEN so prior experience supporting SEN is advantageous.


Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining an extremely supportive and encouraging team of early years professionals. You will support across the nursery and forest school, supporting your new pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis inside and outside the classroom. You will support the learning and development of all students by taking a pupil-centred approach to learning as to ensure that the academic and social needs of all pupils are at the heart of all operations. All classrooms within this school are open planned, with inclusive equipment provided to support all pupil needs. You will offer phonics interventions and implement learn through play sessions to promote pupils' social and emotional development. This school is extremely inclusive with a number of pupils having complex and profound SEN. As to ensure this inclusivity continues, you will at times be required to support these pupils on a 1:1 basis by actively encouraging them to partake in learning activities.


What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a Level 3 Early Years or equivalent qualification as well as:

  • Recent referenceable experience working within a primary/nursery school
  • Experience supporting SEN such as ASD, LD, non-verbal and other complex needs
  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract (at least 32.5 hours per week)
