Hays are working with a renowned business based who are looking for an Office Manager on a permanent basis. This is an exciting role in which to oversee and manage the daily administrative operations of the office, ensuring efficient coordination across logistics, customer service, and sales support. The Office Manager will play a key role in maintaining smooth workflows, supporting team performance, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery. Experience in the construction, or logistics sector is highly desirable.

Your new role

As an Office Manager, your role will be

  • Lead and support the transport and sales administration teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the office, including workflow management and task delegation.
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, and maintenance to ensure a well-functioning workspace.
  • Coordinate transport logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and customer orders.
  • Negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor and optimize shipping rates and supply chain costs.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to fulfil customer orders and resolve logistics-related queries.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Support the development and implementation of sales strategies to meet customer demand.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems (both digital and physical).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant transport and industry regulations.
  • Assist with reporting, data entry, and general administrative tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in office management, ideally within the aggregates, construction, or logistics sectors.
  • Strong understanding of transport coordination and logistics.
  • Experience supporting or working closely with sales teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with CRM systems and digital workflow tools.
  • Understanding of transport compliance (e.g., FORS, DVSA regulations).
