Plumber role - 2 months work - Southampton Central
To provide high-quality plumbing services across the university estate, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all water systems. The role also includes multi-trade responsibilities to support general maintenance and repair tasks, contributing to the upkeep of a safe and functional learning environment.
Plumbing Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, heating systems, and sanitary fixtures.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs in accordance with relevant regulations and university standards.
- Ensure compliance with water hygiene and legionella control procedures.
Multi-Trade Duties:
- Carry out basic tasks in other trades, such as carpentry, tiling, plastering, and minor electrical work.
- Assist with general building maintenance and refurbishment projects.
- Support emergency response and out-of-hours maintenance when required.
Essential experience:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing experience.
- Proven experience in plumbing maintenance and installation.
- Basic competency in other trades (e.g., carpentry, tiling, plastering).
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence
