Full-Time Teaching Assistant Job – Special School in Sandwell (Oldbury)
We are recruiting a Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a special educational needs school located in the Oldbury area of Sandwell. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated individual looking for a long-term role within a SEND school in Sandwell.
The school provides a supportive, inclusive environment for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and is known for its strong staff support and positive culture.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
- Supporting children and young people with SEND in a classroom setting
- Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and development
- Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
- Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and independence
- Contributing to a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
Teaching Assistant Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people (education, care, or SEND experience desirable)
- A patient, resilient, and caring approach
- A strong interest in working within special schools in Sandwell
- Availability for a full-time, term-time position
