Interim Assistant Management Accountant – Hybrid

Your new role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on an initial short-term basis, with a strong likelihood of extension or permanent opportunity for the right individual. Working closely with the Finance Director, Finance Manager and Accountant, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance operations across several divisions. This is a hands-on role offering variety, responsibility and excellent visibility across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with management accounts preparation
- Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks
- Supporting VAT and CIS returns
- Processing and reconciling house sale completions from solicitors
- Working with multiple divisional accounts
- Supporting month-end duties and general finance tasks as required
The role offers a hybrid working pattern with two days working from home and three days on-site.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in an assistant management accounting or similar finance role
- Strong general accounting knowledge and practical experience
- Exposure to VAT and/or CIS returns (advantageous but not essential)
- Comfortable working with financial systems (specific system experience is not required)
- AAT qualification or working towards (beneficial)
- A proactive, reliable approach with the ability to provide stability to the team
Professional qualifications such as CIMA or ACCA are not required for this role.
