Are you a dedicated and passionate educator with a strong commitment to supporting students with special educational needs? We are seeking an experienced and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team in Chesterfield.
About the Role:
Hays Education are proud to be working exclusively with a large primary academy in Chesterfield to recruit a temporary SENCO for a long-term role, with the potential to go permanent. As a SENCO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all students with special educational needs to receive the support and resources they need to succeed. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the provision for students with special educational needs.
- Coordinating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective support plans.
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of students with SEN and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Providing training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and policies related to SEN.
Key Requirements:
- SENCO Qualification: It is essential that you hold a recognised SENCO qualification. This demonstrates your expertise and commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
- Experience: Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a similar role within a primary school setting.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation.
- Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Passion: A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.
