I am working with a UK-leading and long‑established built environment consultancy delivering multidisciplinary property and construction services across the UK. This consultancy works on some of the most prolific projects in the UK and works with market sector leaders from global sports brands to social housing. This company has a key plan for growth and is looking to progress people through the ranks of the business.
Your new role
- Undertake regular communication with our Client’s team to co-ordinate programmes of inspections and remedial works
- Ensure buildings conform to the latest fire-related building regulations and technical standards
- Taking particulars on site, writing up schedules of works required and in association with others, prepare specifications, obtain estimates, plan programmes of work, monitor progress of works on site, checking compliance with the specification
- Provide a practical and methodical approach to solving problems, working to fixed budgets and working within tight deadlines
- Provide advice in connection with applications for Building Regulations Approval on Fire Related matters.
- Authorise and sign off Fire Risk Assessments before submission to clients
- Conduct annual internal audits on Fire Risk Assessors
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your application, you must be fully conversant with current fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and technical standards, as well as a full understanding of current fire safety issues, trends and best practice.

- Demonstrable experience gained in a similar role
- Minimum Level 4 qualification in fire risk management, or a Level 5 qualification in fire risk assessment or fire engineering
- IFE-approved fire risk assessment course completion
- Registered on the national register of Fire Risk Assessors, either via IFE, FRACS or IFSM (the latter of which will require minimum registration on Tier 3 of the IFSM register)
- Experience as a Validator under the BAFE SP205-1 Scheme
- Driving licence required
- Experience of carrying out fire risk assessments in a range of premises
