Care taking role - Birmingham City Council - Local Authority - Temporary ongoing contract

Your new role

As an Estate Caretaker for Birmingham City Council you will support the daily health and safety monitoring of High Rise / Low Rise blocks.
You will complete daily cleaning tasks inside and outside the block properties such as litter picking, removing of dumped rubbish and fly tipping, as well as sorting minor repairs and other general care taking tasks.
Also conducting daily health and safety checks internal and external ensuring Health & Safety compliance.
You will be expected to help the neighbourhood officer with any other caretaking related tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for someone who is available for an ASAP start, is reliable and has good timekeeping, doesn't mind being up on their feet for prolonged periods of time and has a background or previous experience in a caretaking or similar roles. Please be willing to go through the compliance checks and have your two most recent employment references available on request.

What you'll get in return

These roles are full-time, temporary roles based in Birmingham. Usually it is a 3-month ongoing contract with a high likelihood of long-term extensions. This position in particular offers a pay rate of £12 per hour + holiday allowance, which takes the overall hourly accrual to £13.45 per hour.
