Full-time Legal Assistant in Birmigham. Temp to perm opportunity, ASAP start

Your new company

We are working with a West Midlands based Housing Association, seeking a dedicated and professional Disrepair Legal Assistant to join their Housing Legal Team. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity for someone with a legal background who is passionate about delivering high-quality service and making a difference in housing litigation.

Your new role

In this role, you will support the Disrepair Legal Team in defending legal claims related to property condition and disrepair. You’ll work closely with solicitors and legal officers to manage cases, draft legal documents, and liaise with internal teams and external agencies. Your work will help ensure the Association's legal processes are compliant, efficient, and customer-focused.

This is a full-time role offering hybrid working, and typical working hours of 9am–5pm Monday to Friday.

What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for someone with a law degree or equivalent, ideally with practical legal experience or completion of the Legal Practice Course. You should have a solid understanding of court procedures, housing law, and civil litigation, along with the ability to manage a busy caseload and prepare legal pleadings and evidence. Experience in customer service and working with hard-to-reach groups is also valuable. You will also need to pass a Basic DBS check which we will put into place.

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll be part of a supportive and inclusive team that values professionalism and collaboration. You’ll gain hands-on experience in housing litigation and have the opportunity to grow within a respected organisation committed to serving its tenants. You will also receive payment on a weekly basis while on a temp contract with an hourly rate of £17.74 with holiday pay.
