This is an exciting opportunity to step into a hands‑on generalist role within a fast‑paced environment where you’ll play a key part in driving strong HR practice, supporting operational leaders, and ensuring compliance across the employee lifecycle.

Your new role As HR Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day HR function, managing a small team of two HR Administrators and acting as the primary HR contact for the site. This is a broad and varied role covering all aspects of generalist HR, with a strong emphasis on compliance, continuous improvement, and supporting a changing operational landscape.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading, developing, and mentoring two HR Administrators
  • Providing comprehensive HR advice to managers across employee relations, performance, absence, and capability
  • Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning in line with operational needs
  • Managing HR policies, processes, and documentation
  • Leading HR projects focused on reducing organisational risk and strengthening compliance
  • Ensuring alignment with evolving UK employment legislation and best practice
  • Supporting change initiatives across the wider business
  • Producing HR reports, analytics, and insights for senior leadership
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or a similar fast‑paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience managing or mentoring HR support staff
  • Ability to balance operational demands with strategic HR projects
  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Resilient, proactive, and comfortable working independently
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience (desirable)
What you’ll get in return
  • The opportunity to make a real impact within a growing organisation
  • A supportive leadership team and autonomy to develop the HR function
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Potential to move into a permanent HR leadership role for the right candidate
