Your new role
- Act as a leader in HR matters for key stakeholders and the leadership team.
- Add value through strong commercial awareness of both the wider and local business environment.
- Serve as a trusted business partner to regional and business-wide leadership teams.
- Lead the development and implementation of HR change projects.
- Conduct union negotiations, leveraging well-established relationships.
- Oversee restructuring projects.
- Keep the leadership team informed on relevant legal matters.
- Build awareness of relevant risks and opportunities within the regions and the broader business concerning people.
- Drive the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda by supporting and encouraging involvement across all areas of responsibility.
- Develop and embed new HR/business procedures or initiatives as necessary.
- Promote the importance of talent management, including the utilisation of the succession management process.
- Lead key recruitment activities, particularly at senior levels.
- Educate HR Business Partners and wider business stakeholders on utilising HR Key Performance Indicators to address key issues such as high absence and labour turnover.
- Become an integral member of regional/business management teams, attending management and other relevant meetings.
- Define and lead occupational health programs.
- Act as a professional leader in the business, developing, implementing, and embedding value-adding people strategies.
- Conduct internal HR-oriented audits as appropriate.
- Support the wider business in external audits when required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a fast-paced HR generalist role and ideally in a construction environment.
- Experience in Union Negotiations.
- Strategic and project level HR experience.
- CIPD level 5 or above.
- Willingness to travel to the head office in Barnsley when required.
