Hays is thrilled to be partnering with a leading force in the energy and utilities sector to recruit a passionate and driven Senior HR Advisor for an exciting, newly created role.

Your new role

As a Senior HR Advisor, you will support the HR Manager with operational tasks across the full HR lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide expert advice and support on HR policies, employee relations, and best practices.
  • Lead on core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, absence management, and HR administration.
  • Oversee payroll operations and ensure accurate, confidential record-keeping.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, systems, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Contribute to HR projects and foster a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
  • First point of contact and support for a team of HR Administrators.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualifications: Degree in HR or CIPD Level 5+ (Associate level).

  • Experience: 5+ years in a generalist HR role, covering the full employee lifecycle.

  • Expertise: Strong background in recruitment, employee relations, absence management, and policy development.

  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of employment law, equality reporting, and HR systems/payroll databases.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead HR teams and manage competing priorities in a confidential environment.

  • Skills: High emotional intelligence, attention to detail, strong IT and analytical skills, and a proactive, adaptable mindset.

Desirable:

  • CIPP qualification or membership.

  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing.
