HR Advisor - Maternity Cover
Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team, on a 9-month fixed term contract for maternity cover. This organisation provides business critical services for many of the UK’s best-known companies. This is a hybrid role with expectation to be on site 2-3 days per week.
Day to Day:
- Take responsibility for providing advice and generalist HR support across the contract
- Develop effective on-going relationships at all levels establishing yourself as a credible, respected and valued advisor, responding to queries directly and influencing managers to follow a best practice approach
- Own the delivery of key people processes such as absence, maternity, paternity, flexible working, probation etc.
- Support the management team in the performance management of individuals and other employee relations situations (e.g., performance improvement plans, capability processes, disciplinary scenarios, grievances).
- Produce accurate weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Proactively spot/implement opportunities to improve team ways of working and supporting customers; identify problems and find solutions.
- Assist in training and developing managers in people related matters, ensuring processes are followed and legislation is met.
- Providing HR support for ad-hoc operational business-related projects e.g., new business wins, TUPE.
- Support recruitment activity ensuring compliance to internal policies and selection of the most suitable candidates
- Support and improve absence management including the active management of welfare meetings and OH referrals
- Support cyclical activities i.e., salary review, bonus, performance, engagement, succession planning etc.
What will you bring:
- Proven HR experience
- Skilled in providing pragmatic, tailored HR advice.
- Experience of supporting managers with employee relations issues.
- CIPD Level 3 qualified or desire to work towards.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law.
- Must have excellent organisational skills and initiative, with the ability to manage the day-to-day HR processes effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about developing and supporting colleagues to fulfil their potential.
- Pragmatic, resilient and a self-starter.
- Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build relationships quickly.
