Employee Relations Advisor – Reading (Hybrid – 2 days on-site) Rate: £200–£250 per day - 6-month contract
Your new role
As an Employee Relations Advisor, you’ll provide short-term support to increase case management capacity across Flexible Working Requests, Reasonable Adjustments, health-related queries, and return-to-office compliance. You’ll manage a high-volume caseload (circa 60 cases), coach managers, ensure policy and legal compliance, and contribute to proactive ER initiatives.

You’ll manage a high-volume caseload (circa 60 cases), coach managers, ensure policy and legal compliance, and contribute to proactive ER initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising managers on ER matters including flexible working, reasonable adjustments, and conduct
- Providing pragmatic, risk-managed advice to support sensitive conversations
- Ensuring compliance with employment law and policies
- Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across the People Team
- Contributing insights to support proactive ER strategy
What you'll need to succeed
You’ll have prior experience in a similar role, ideally within a large, complex organisation, and be confident handling high-volume ER casework. Strong knowledge of UK employment law is essential, along with experience in flexible working, reasonable adjustments, and health-related cases. You’ll be resilient, pragmatic, and able to influence and support managers effectively.
