Great opportunity for an HR Advisor to join a public sector organisation on a temporary contract, 3-6 months.

Your new company

A public-sector organisation that plays a vital role in ensuring fairness and accountability in how public services are delivered across Northern Ireland. They’re known for independent thinking, high professional standards, and a people-focused culture and they now need extra HR capability to support an immediate operational requirement.

Your new role

As Human Resources Advisor, you’ll step into a broad, hands-on generalist position supporting managers with timely, credible HR advice across employee relations, policy, recruitment and selection, and people development. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to keep key HR activity moving at pace, while maintaining a calm, impartial approach in a busy environment. This is a temporary opportunity with real variety, where you can add value quickly and leave a strong footprint in a respected organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Associate membership of the CIPD (Assoc CIPD) as a minimum
  • At least 3 years’ generalist HR experience across a minimum of three areas (e.g. HR advisory, policy development, recruitment & selection, learning/training planning, organisational development)
  • Strong working knowledge of NI employment legislation and the ability to apply it in real-world situations
  • Experience managing competing priorities and delivering under tight timescales
  • Confidence drafting clear reports and policy documents with evidence-based recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the judgement to remain fair, consistent and impartial

What you'll get in return

You’ll receive a salary of £38,220 – £40,777, alongside a Belfast-based hybrid working arrangement. This is a temporary role (initial 3 months, with potential extension to 6 months) and the organisation is open to full-time (37 hours, Mon–Fri) or part-time working (minimum 3 days per week). Most importantly: it’s a meaningful, high-trust HR role with genuine breadth, ideal for someone who enjoys being the “safe pair of hands” that keeps people and process moving.
