HR Administrator Job Available at Multi-Academy Trust in Ashton

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented HR Admin Assistant to join the central HR team at a Multi-Academy Trust in Ashton on a temporary basis. This role will provide essential administrative support to all academies within the trust, ensuring smooth HR operations and compliance with policies and procedures.

Location: Ashton-under-Lyne
Rate: £15 - £17/hour DOE
Department: MAT Central Team
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary for 3 months

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and organise electronic personnel files for sharing with schools.
  • Liaise with school contacts to ensure timely return of onboarding paperwork and update tracking spreadsheets.
  • Monitor signed contractual documents and maintain accurate records.
  • Generate and distribute reports on TLR payments, responsibility allowances, fixed-term contracts, and family leave returns.
  • Prepare temporary inputs for authorisation by academies.
  • Manage the HR inbox, responding to queries promptly and professionally.
  • Support staff with access to ESS and monitor completion of exit questionnaires.
  • Update shared spreadsheets with SCR information for new staff, governors, and trustees.
  • Provide monthly updates on starters and leavers for benefits providers and internal audits.
  • Verify occupational health invoices against new starters.
  • Draft letters confirming changes to terms and conditions.
  • Assist with payroll data entry, checks, and internal audits as required.
  • Support HR projects, note-taking, and intranet updates.
  • Assist with diary management and maintain central team training records.
  • Provide general office support, including handling incoming post.
  • Undertake any other duties as directed by the HR Manager.

Experience & Skills Required
  • Previous experience in HR, ideally within an education setting
  • Experience in the use of the HR system iTrent is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (data filtering, sorting, and basic formulas).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
