Permanent HR Advisor role based in Glasgow

Hays Human Resources are delighted to partner with a leading engineering organisation based in Glasgow as they look to appoint an experienced HR Advisor to their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking organisation where you’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting the full employee lifecycle.


Your new role

As a generalist HR Advisor, you will work closely with the HR Manager and wider leadership team to deliver a comprehensive and proactive HR service. You’ll be responsible for supporting all aspects of HR, ensuring a positive working environment and driving best practice across the organisation.

Your remit will include:
- Providing professional advice and guidance to managers and employees in line with HR policies, procedures and employment legislation
- Supporting a range of ER activities including onboarding, offboarding, probation, absence management, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Coordinating recruitment activities, including job postings, CV screening, interview scheduling and liaising with hiring managers.
- Delivering HR induction sessions and preparing all new starter documentation
- Maintaining and updating employee data within HRIS systems
- Supporting the development and implementation of HR processes and policies
- Supporting the performance review process and maintaining the appraisal system
- Assisting with training needs analysis and development initiatives


What you'll need to succeed

- Experience working in a generalist HR role
- Proven experience across recruitment, employee relations and performance management
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Experience using HRIS systems, ideally including implementation
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving capability
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
