You’ll be part of a collaborative HR & OD team that supports strategic and operational goals across the business.

Your new role

As HR Assistant, you’ll provide comprehensive administrative support across a wide range of HR and OD functions. You’ll be responsible for coordinating key processes in recruitment, absence management, and learning & development. Your duties will include maintaining HR systems, producing reports, supporting employee relations cases, organising training, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and employment legislation, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a busy HR environment, including recruitment, training, absence management, and producing reports using HR systems.

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and HR Management Information Systems.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality service.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport, or suitable alternative arrangements.

  • A proactive, customer-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.

What you'll get in return

  • A competitive salary starting at £31,586 per annum (Scale 6).

  • A 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.

  • Flexible working arrangements and a commitment to employee wellbeing.

  • The chance to make a meaningful impact in a forward-thinking public sector environment.

  • Minimum 3-month contract.
