We have a requirement for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor with our engineering client outside of Newry.

Your new company
A leading manufacturing and engineering organisation in the Newry area is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety and Quality Coordinator to join their team. This is a key role focused on promoting a safe working environment and ensuring quality standards are consistently met across operations.

Your new role
As Safety and Quality Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing health and safety policies, conducting training, and monitoring compliance with regulations. You will also oversee quality control procedures, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure that both safety and quality standards are upheld throughout the organisation. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures, developing and communicating safety policies and emergency plans, delivering training (Manual Handling, Gantry, Abrasive Wheels, etc.) . Monitoring compliance and supervising safe working practices and promoting a positive safety culture and leading by example. Training staff and inductions. Allocating resources and ensuring provision of safety equipment and driving continuous improvement and corrective actions. Esstablishing and maintaining quality standards and objectives and implementing quality control procedures and monitoring performance investigating non-conformities and resolving quality issues. Promoting a quality-first mindset across the organisation. Identifying opportunities for process and product improvement.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have proven experience in a health and safety or quality coordination role, train-the-Trainer certification for Manual Handling, Gantry, Abrasive Wheels, strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices and First Aid certification (desirable). Excellent report writing and root cause analysis skills and strong organisational and communication abilities. A proactive, detail-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
