Maintenance Operative
Location: Central London
Salary: £20/hour
Job Type: Long-term temporary assignment
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (shifts vary – 08:00–16:00 / 09:00–17:00 / 10:00–18:00)
About the Role:
We are working exclusively with a reputable private student accommodation provider in their search for a skilled Maintenance Operative to join their team at a site in NW London.
As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site, ensuring the facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing hands-on maintenance tasks across mechanical, HVAC, and MEP systems
- Conducting commercial repairs
- Carrying out PPMs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and health & safety regulations
- Completing basic repairs and DIY tasks as required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in maintenance, handyman work, or a related field
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with the wider team
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
