About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our team. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring our premises, grounds, and facilities are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and customers.
The successful candidate will be practical, organised, and capable of carrying out a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and site support duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and grounds.
- Carry out basic maintenance and minor repair work.
- Ensure the site remains clean, safe, and presentable at all times.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues or health and safety concerns.
- Open and secure the premises as required.
- Support contractors and service providers working on site.
- Perform basic grounds maintenance, including litter picking and outdoor upkeep.
- Assist with room setups, furniture movements, and general site requests.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or handyman role.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs.
- Good practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
Desirable
- Experience working within schools, commercial buildings, healthcare settings, or residential properties.
- Relevant maintenance or facilities qualifications.
- First Aid or Health & Safety certification.
