The services of Hays have been retained by our client, an established Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Maintenance Officer on a temporary contract basis for a period of c. 6 months with the possibility of further extension. It is envisaged that this role will be recruited by the Association on a permanent basis in due course.

The Association has a portfolio which includes supported housing, housing for the elderly and general family accommodation.

You will ensure the delivery of an effective response maintenance service which will include:

Undertaking detailed inspection of void properties, bringing them back to a suitable standard within agreed timeframes.

Monitoring contractor performance, ensuring conditions of contracts are complied with.

Maintaining an effective filing and computerised diary system in respect of housing maintenance issues, updating property information and maintenance activity.

Reviewing and authorising contractor payments.

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

A 3rd level qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject with a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role. Alternatively, you should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

This role offers an immediate start and the opportunity to take up a key role with an established Housing Association based in Belfast.

It is envisaged that this role will be recruited on a permanent basis in due course. The initial temporary contract role might interest an individual who is seeking a contract role, but it may also offer good exposure to the post for an individual interested in securing the role on a permanent basis.
