The Role

Working alongside our Maintenance Administrator, you will carry out a wide range of general repairs and property inspections across tenanted and void properties. The role focuses on responsive and preventative maintenance to ensure homes remain safe, secure and in good repair.

Typical duties will include:

    • Re‑hanging doors and basic joinery
    • Boarding up broken windows
  • Fence repairs

Please note: This role does not include gas or electrical work requiring formal qualifications, and there is currently no out‑of‑hours requirement.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in a maintenance, handyperson or multi‑trade role
  • Has experience working in social housing or with vulnerable tenants (highly desirable)
  • Is reliable, approachable and able to work independently
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with tenants
  • Can manage a varied workload across multiple properties

We particularly welcome applications from women maintenance operatives, as some tenants prefer this for personal or safety reasons. However, our priority is appointing the best person for the role; appropriate support will be provided when attending sensitive visits.

Why Join Us?

  • Meaningful work supporting local communities
  • A varied role with autonomy and responsibility
  • Short‑term opportunity with immediate impact

If you are a skilled maintenance professional looking for a temporary role within social housing in Leeds, we’d be keen to hear from you.
