I am currently supporting a school in Newcastle who is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands‑on School Caretaker to support a busy educational setting.
This is a full‑time temporary role, expected to last for approximately 4 weeks, with the potential for extension depending on school needs

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site daily
• General maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the building and grounds
• Ensuring classrooms, corridors, and communal areas remain safe and tidy
• Supporting with health & safety checks and compliance tasks
• Liaising with staff, contractors, and external services
• Responding to urgent maintenance issues as they arise

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential
• Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities role is desirable
• Strong practical skills and the ability to work independently
• Good communication and organisational abilities
• A positive, can‑do attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe school environment
