Hays are looking for HLTAs to work in secondary schools & SEND provisions around the Preston area.

Your new company

Hays Education are working with a well established education provider who are currently recruiting for a number of qualified TAs and HLTAs across their schools & SEND provisions in Preston. Their schools cater to children with additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. They have a mix of all-girls and all-boys schools and range across KS3 & KS4. These roles are to start ASAP and have the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Your new role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for one of their provisions in Preston. You will be working with a small group of students who have SEMH needs and have been out of education for a while. Your primary role will be to re-engage these students with education and support their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with SEMH needs.

  • Assist in re-engaging students with education.

  • Work closely with students living in care homes and those living with parents.

  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive learning environment.

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs.

  • Experience in a similar role as a TA or HLTA.

  • Ability to commute & work in a rural location.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
