Hays are working in collaboration with a prominent firm in Belfast that specialises in structural, civil, and conservation engineering to recruit a Structural Engineer. They offer comprehensive services throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, with specialised expertise in preserving and enhancing historically and culturally significant structures.
Your new role
- Create practical and cost-efficient structural designs using timber, concrete, masonry, and steel.
- Ensure timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality project completion.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of design experience with a consulting structural engineering firm in the UK or Ireland.
- Preferably, have experience in heavy civil, renovation and restoration.
What you'll need to succeed
Membership in a relevant professional institution is required. You should possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of engineering principles, with experience of designing according to NI/UK & Eurocodes, NI/UK & Irish Building Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Technical Standards.
Proficiency in engineering design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, AutoCAD, and Revit is crucial.
Additionally, excellent planning, organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
