Full-Time HLTA – Primary School, Wigan

Your new company

Hays Education is working with a primary school in Wigan. We are currently recruiting a confident and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA to bring their creativity, leadership, and passion for education to a vibrant school community.
You must have recent UK school-based experience and the relevant qualifications for this role.


Your new role

• Leading and planning lessons in the absence of the teacher
• Providing classroom support across EYFS, KS1 & KS2
• Running focused 1:1 and small group interventions
• Supporting SEN(D) children when required
• Supporting with phonics, literacy, numeracy, and guided reading
• Collaborating with teaching staff to support learning outcomes
• Contributing to behaviour management and pupil well-being

What you'll get in return

• Confident delivering lessons independently when required
• Experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 is preferred
