Interim Pharma Procurement Manager - Outside IR35 up to £500 per day - Hybrid working / Cheshire

A globally renowned and highly innovative pharmaceutical business in the heart of Cheshire is seeking an interim Procurement Manager to carefully manage their spend within APIs, bio substances and formulation & packaging (F&P). The contract will last at least until the end of 2025 with a likelihood of extension.
Your new role
Reporting to the Procurement Director for external manufacturing, your role as Procurement Manager is to lead sourcing and procurement activities for biological drug substance categories of external manufacturing. In this role you will lead commercial procurement activities with specific suppliers, and for assigned brands within the company. Working with other internal stakeholders, you will develop long-term strategies across two main angles: for brands, working with department heads to drive end-to-end supply chain value, as well as full product lifecycle value; and then for technologies, developing biologics drug substance category strategies. Ultimately, your role is ensuring that the external supply base can support these strategies long into the future.

Your new role

What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience in Procurement, ideally within the Pharmaceutical industry – in one or more of the following areas: Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) / Bio drug substances / Formulation & Packaging (F&P). Bio drug substances would be the ideal experience to have out of the areas above.
- Experience of sourcing contract manufacturing services would be advantageous
- Strong experience in supplier selection & strong negotiation strategy
- Stakeholder Management and negotiation skills
- Comfort with risk and ambiguous situations.
- Ability to work in fast paced moving environment managing multiple scenarios.
- Commercial, Procurement experience, negotiating large, complex deals.
- Experience of working on global basis.
- Analytical and systems acumen, working with Procure-to-pay systems, SAP, Microsoft Suite
