Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging geography lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, including preparation for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Plan and implement a curriculum that promotes geographical enquiry, critical thinking, and global awareness.
- Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide effective feedback.
- Support students of all abilities, including those with additional needs and those aiming for top grades.
- Contribute to curriculum development, fieldwork planning, and enrichment activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, classroom management, and student engagement.
Person Specification:
Essentials:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Geography or a closely related subject.
- Significant experience teaching geography at secondary level, including GCSE and A-Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for geography education.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Desirable:
- Experience leading fieldwork or geography-related trips.
- Familiarity with current educational research and best practices in geography teaching.
- Ability to contribute to cross-curricular projects or whole-school initiatives.
