Your new role

As a General Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
  • Work with pupils in small groups or 1:1 to reinforce learning.
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, phonics, and guided reading.
  • Help manage pupil behaviour and promote engagement.
  • Support pupils with SEND or EAL needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and positive learning environment.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting (minimum 20 days in the last 2 years).
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
