Senior Design Engineer

Your new company

This client is a market leader in robotic solutions for the oil and gas sector, serving global oil majors across the UK and Ireland. With access to significant engineering design and manufacturing capabilities, they are expanding their team with a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer.

Your new role

This is a key technical leadership position focused on designing and developing innovative robotic equipment and attachments, ensuring compliance with CE marking, ATEX, and other industry standards. You will collaborate closely with operations and sales teams to create bespoke solutions for on-site challenges and oversee manufacturing within our advanced facilities.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading complex engineering design projects from concept to completion.
  • Driving innovation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ensuring robust, manufacturable designs.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and fostering technical excellence.
  • Conducting design reviews, risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Liaising with suppliers for components and custom parts.
  • Supporting quality assurance processes, including ISO 9001 audits.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and strong AutoCAD skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • HNC/HND in Engineering (Degree preferred).
