Customer Service Advisor, £24,753.50, Belfast

Your new role

As a Customer Advisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer needs are met efficiently and professionally. You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling queries and requests across multiple channels while maintaining accurate records and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and service requests, providing inclusive and high-quality customer service.
  • Respond to reported emergencies in line with safety standards and operational protocols, ensuring accurate data collection and calm, professional communication.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints promptly, escalating where necessary.
  • Assist in scheduling asset maintenance and connection appointments using diary and resource planning systems.
  • Maintain and update customer records across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Process documentation from engineers, including meter records and Gas Pressure Test Certificates.
  • Book energy advisor appointments and provide general administrative support to the team.
  • Contribute positively to team goals, attend meetings, and participate in training and development activities.

What you'll need to succeed

Education, Qualifications, and Training
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade C or above
Experience
  • At least two years’ experience working within a contact centre handling high-volume telephone enquiries OR
  • At least three years’ experience in a retail environment
  • (Desirable) One year’s experience working with engineers and managing appointments using a diary system
  • (Desirable) At least one year’s administrative experience
  • (Desirable) Experience updating high volumes of data on a computer system
  • (Desirable) Experience in complaint handling
Job Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently without supervision
  • Ability to multitask various activities
  • Excellent communication skills, including a polite and friendly telephone manner

What you'll get in return

  • £24,753.50 per annum with 2 x 6-monthly increases.

  • This is a permanent full-time position working 37 hours per week.

    8.30am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, 8.30am – 4.30pm on Friday. (1 late night until 7pm per week)
