Project Engineer – Sustainability & Engineering | Belfast
Your new company
We’re working with a pioneering organisation at the forefront of organic waste recycling and sustainable energy solutions. With over 30 years of experience and a strong presence across Northern Ireland, they’re now embarking on a major growth phase—including the development of Ireland’s first High Solids Anaerobic Digestion (HSAD) plant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values-driven, future-focused team delivering innovative climate solutions. You’ll play a key role in the design, build, and commissioning of cutting-edge infrastructure that will inject biomethane into the local gas grid—creating a truly circular economy.
Your new role
As a Project Engineer, you will be expected to control and supervise key elements of the projects to ensure correct specification, timelines are being met, and the project is being delivered within budget. A major part of the role is to provide support for the development of new product ranges and new technologies. Specifically, you will be expected to provide engineering input to projects during design and oversee their delivery on site. There will be a combination of office-based design activities and site-works as part of the overall project coordination and delivery activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver engineering projects from concept to completion
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors
- Monitor build progress, quality, and compliance
- Track project performance and manage risks
- Support the development of new technologies and product ranges
- Ensure all legal, safety, and environmental standards are met
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong project delivery experience
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of health & safety (NEBOSH/IOSH preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project
- Full UK driving licence
- A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset
- Flexibility for occasional travel for client meetings
What you'll get in return
This is a unique chance to be part of a purpose-led team driving real environmental impact through cutting-edge engineering and sustainable innovation — with a competitive salary to match.
