Financial Controller | Wigan | Permanent Full-Time | up to £75,000 DOE

A highly skilled Plant Finance Controller to lead financial operations at a manufacturing site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and relevance of financial indicators and management tools, providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational control.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead the preparation and monitoring of the plant's operating budget, coordinating inputs across departments.
  • Oversee the Annual Investment Plan (AIP), including contract management and investment profitability analysis.
  • Forecast future P&L performance and monitor weekly spend against budget.
  • Prepare management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze profitability by customer and product.
Costing & Controls
  • Define and update standard costs (e.g., hourly rates, raw materials).
  • Ensure accurate pricing and quotation processes through collaboration with other departments.
  • Supervise budgetary control processes and monitor action plans.
  • Analyze customer credit risk and make informed decisions.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (tax, labour, accounting).
  • Manage company insurance policies.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery.
  • Uphold internal regulations and Group Policies on Equal Opportunities, Environment, Health & Safety, and Quality.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Develop and implement training plans for direct reports.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and define development action plans.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and team growth.

Benefits
You will be joining a growing and well-established manufacturing business on a permanent basis, salary up to £75,000 depending on experience, plus 15% bonus and 4.5% pension. Plus, additional benefits to be discussed.
