Interim Financial Controller, Redcar, Teesside

Your new role


Reporting to the Directors, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the day to day financial management of the group and preparation of accounts and KPIs.

You will also have significant dealings with the events, marketing, sales teams and suppliers as well as interaction with clients to assist with the smooth delivery of events.

You will have held a senior role in a finance department in a fast-paced organisation, and have the ability and experience to make quick decisions through interrogation of business data.
You will be a critical thinker who can explore all avenues of a problem, and provide effective solutions to harness business growth. Allowing you to feed this information back at Board level to allow strategic business decisions to happen effectively and with confidence.

You will have ideally worked within organisations that have multiple businesses, and understand how to use your time effectively to best support the needs of each company.

Key responsibilities:

Maintain the accounting and CRM systems for the 10 companies using Quickbooks,
Produce monthly management accounts for the operational companies

Reconcile balance sheets

Variance analysis

Produce weekly and monthly KPIs.

Maintain a detailed group cash flow forecast.

Manage cash accordingly and advise the Directors.

Produce annual forecasts and budgets with the Directors.

Maintain inter company balance.

Lead raising of finance projects as required.

Management and control over Credit Control and Purchase Ledger.

Record and monitor income and assist with arrears.

Handling client and supplier account queries.

Online banking.

Statutory obligations i.e. annual confirmation statements and ICO renewals.
VAT returns.
Liaise with the Group’s Accountants in relation to PAYE matters.
Liaise with the Group’s Accountants in relation to statutory accounts and corporation tax.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications & Requirements:

● Proven track record at this level
● ACCA, ACA , CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
● Strong IT skills and experience operating accounting software.
● Strong Excel skills [pivot tables, lookup and similar formula knowledge, strong spread
sheet presentational skills].
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
