Temp Finance Officer Needed ASAP – Manchester City Centre | Hybrid Working

As part of their dynamic finance team, you’ll play a key role in supporting financial operations that underpin critical infrastructure and public sector initiatives. Your new role

As the Finance Officer, you’ll take ownership of the Accounts Payable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processing. You’ll manage commissioning requests, maintain supplier records, and support payment runs and bank reconciliations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Processing purchase requisitions, orders, invoices, and goods receipting

  • Managing the commissioning log and liaising with Procurement and Legal teams

  • Monitoring finance inboxes and responding to queries

  • Performing bank reconciliations and cost transfers

  • Preparing supplier payment runs and verifying bank details

  • Raising and processing invoice requests

  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks

What you’ll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a proactive mindset and a meticulous approach to financial operations. You’ll need:

  • Essential experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • Strong working knowledge of Accounts Payable

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

  • A methodical and logical approach to problem-solving

  • Confidence in providing challenge and support to senior stakeholders

  • Public sector experience is desirable but not essential
