Finance Officer - Public Sector - Ballymena - Imminent Start

Your new role
As Finance Officer within the Financial Accounting Services team, you will support the day-to-day operations of financial accounts, including Charitable Trust Funds and Patient’s Private Property. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining petty cash and catering department floats
- Processing patient travel expenses and liaising with external agencies
- Managing safe registers and controlled stationery
- Certifying remittance advice forms and processing manual cheque payments
- Handling receipts, payments, reconciliations, and credit card transactions
- Supporting financial reporting, audits, and year-end processes
- Assisting with system uploads, journals, and governance checks
- Providing financial analysis and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., Oracle or similar)
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to financial policies
