Hays are working with a leading charity to recruit a Senior Finance Officer in Belfast.

Your new role

As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing various financial processes and ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department. Your key responsibilities will include:
•Managing cash book processing, including preparation and recording of payments from multiple bank accounts and overseeing monthly bank reconciliations.
•Handling purchase ledger and supplier payments, along with reconciliations.
•Managing the general ledger, including fixed assets.
•Assisting the Finance Manager in preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
•Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts and actual monthly cash flow reports.
•Managing month-end processes, including closing ledgers.
•Supervising the purchase/general ledger staff team.
•Conducting ad hoc analysis and generating financial reports as required.
•Assisting in the training of finance staff and providing finance training for non-financial managers.

What you'll need to succeed

•A minimum of 5 GCSEs/O levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
•An IATI, part-qualified accountant, or equivalent professional/financial qualification, along with at least 2 years of experience in a finance environment.
•Experience within a finance setting
•Alternatively, 5 years of proven experience within the purchase ledger function, including journal preparation, relevant reconciliations, and management of the purchase ledger function.
•Ability to work unsupervised and within tight deadlines.
•Strong organisational skills and numeracy.
•Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
•Willingness to assist in other areas of the finance department as needed.
•Experience liaising with external bodies and internal staff at all levels.
