Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Wirral (Free On-Site Parking)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
️ Hybrid Working: 3 days in office, 2 days from home (post-probation)

About the Company

Hays are proud to be exclusively partnered with a small, family-run technology business based on the Wirral. With a close-knit team and a collaborative culture, they are now seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations.

About the Role
This is a hands-on finance role ideal for someone with a background in bookkeeping and/or management accounts. You will report directly to the Finance Director and play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the business. This position does not include line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including:
  • Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Processing supplier invoices and managing payment runs
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
  • Chasing outstanding payments and maintaining debtor records
  • Submit payroll data to the outsourced payroll provider
  • Liaise with suppliers and assist with deliveries when required
  • Support the Finance Director with general financial oversight, including:
  • Assisting with month-end routines
  • Preparing and reviewing financial data for internal reporting
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes as needed
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
What We’re Looking For:

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Solid experience in bookkeeping and/or management accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • A proactive, flexible team player who’s happy to get involved in wider business support when needed
