Your new role
As Head of Finance, you will report directly to the Finance Director and lead a dedicated team of five finance professionals. You’ll be responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations, including payroll, management accounts, budgeting, statutory reporting, and audit preparation. You’ll also play a key role in strategic financial planning and support new business development through financial modelling and analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and mentoring the finance team
- Overseeing payroll, expenses, and month-end processes
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting the Finance Director with budgeting and statutory accounts
- Reporting to senior leadership alongside the Finance Director
- Liaising with external auditors and funders
- Attending Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee meetings
What you'll need to succeed
- CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience managing finance teams and delivering high-quality financial reporting
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Charity sector experience
