An international organisation seeks a qualified accountant to join as Finance Director.

Your new role
Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Director is a senior leader responsible for the overall financial management, strategy, and finance operations globally. This role involves leading the finance function to drive financial performance, managing risks, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. The Finance Director will provide financial leadership and insight, ensuring that the organisation’s financial goals are met in collaboration with senior managers and the executive.You will lead the finance team, supporting the CFO in developing and implementing global financial strategy in line with corporate objectives and providing financial insights and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability. You will support the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning in collaboration with the Global Finance Business Partner and oversee all aspects of the global finance function, including Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Pension and Financial Reporting. You will ensure accurate and timely reporting of both Management Accounts and financial reporting in compliance with international accounting standards and regulations, and manage global financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and credit risks.
We are looking for someone who drives operational excellence by optimising financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness, implementing and maintaining strong internal controls and financial governance across all regions, including policy development. You will lead initiatives to enhance working capital management and cash flow optimisation.
There will be potential M&A activity to get involved in where you may lead financial due diligence, valuation, and integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as evaluating and modelling the financial impact of potential business transactions.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience of leading a finance team ideally across a large, geographic region. You will have a s trategic orientation with the ability to develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with organisational goals. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing talent and driving high performance are imperative, as well as a deep understanding of International Accounting Standards, financial regulations and compliance requirements.You will have s trong risk management skills with the ability to uphold adequate controls without stifling creativity and growth, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely. Analytical thinking and strong, proven collaborative skills are required.
