Finance Business Partner
Hays Senior Finance are pleased to be partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Finance Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to combine strong financial expertise with commercial partnering, supporting key operational and strategic initiatives.
Your new role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join a large and complex environment providing strategic financial support to a Clinical Division. Reporting to the Senior Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior operational and clinical leaders, supporting financial performance, planning, forecasting and decision-making across the division. You will lead on monthly financial reporting and forecasting, present financial performance information to Divisional and Speciality Boards, support annual budget setting and business planning processes, and provide financial insight to drive informed operational decisions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing and presenting monthly financial performance reports, forecasts and variance analysis.
- Partnering with clinical and operational stakeholders to improve financial performance and identify efficiencies.
- Supporting the development of business cases, service developments and capital investment proposals.
- Leading on budgetary control, financial planning and cost improvement programme (CIP) monitoring.
- Providing financial modelling, analysis and benchmarking to support strategic decision-making.
- Managing and developing members of the divisional finance team.
- Supporting year-end reporting, annual accounts processes and wider corporate finance initiatives.
- Acting as the finance representative at divisional and operational meetings, influencing senior stakeholders across the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience and a strong background in financial business partnering, management accounting or commercial finance within a large and complex organisation.
You will also demonstrate:
- Membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CCAB or CIMA).
- A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management experience.
- Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Experience presenting complex financial information to both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Staff management and leadership experience.
- Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modelling.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
